Career

Up until the age of seven, whenever somebody asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, the answer was always “The Silver Surfer”.  The image in my mind was utterly BAMF*; something like this:
.

Today somebody asked me what my post-graduation plans were.  I stared at them for a long while and eventually shrugged idiotically because, while a ridiculously moronic and pathetic response, it was better than admitting that Silver Surfer is still my most solid career option.

*Realistically, it would probably just be me plus tin foil.

Reasons Why My Best Friend is My Best Friend

Reason Number One:
My best friend is named Megan ( http://meganrose2414.tumblr.com/ ).  This is us:
Megan and I at Ann Arbor's Slutwalk
During the opening weekend of The Avengers she braved the crowded theaters, my screeching, continuously disappearing panties, hyperventilating and various other symptoms of Avengers geekery just so I could see the movie when it first came out.  She doesn’t read comics and any previous Marvel movies she has seen are the ones I dragged her to.  BEST. FRIEND. EVER.

I cannot not make this comparison every time I see Superman’s face in that detail.  Superman image from Superman #1, depicted in Jules Feiffer’s The Great Comic Book Heroes, 2003.
